Let's talk football for a second. I've said multiple times before if Arsenal win the league (which I think they will) it won't be because they are good , playing exciting football - it will be solely because all the other top teams have been utter shit this season. All it takes is for one team to take it to Arsenal and this is the result . Seeing united's goals vs Arsenal's - football won that day. Their 3rd top scorer is OG, own goals, Owen gollan. Play for corners, rely on set pieces, its ugly. Win this season because I truly believe it will be your only chance and also sack arteta , he has no creativity - sorry for the rant
Football talk. If Arteta doesn't win ANY of the major silverware this year, then yes, I think you have to have a conversation by parting ways. (Fabregas from Como seems like an ideal fit) And again, that's only if Arteta doesn't win any silverware.
Secondly, United did not win that match convincingly. What I mean is this, they thoroughly outplayed City in the Manchester Derby. Against my team? It was a 50-50 match. United were gifted the first goal by Zubimendi (who clearly needs a rest and why Norgaard still hasn't featured in the premier league is baffling to me, especially when he's a former CAPTAIN of a premier league side). And the second goal by United could've been deemed a handball into the build up.
Next, I believe the English teams play Arsenal vastly different than the teams in Europe. (If England is so bad this year, then how come none of the major clubs in Europe are storming through Arsenal in Europe?) What changes from the premier league and champions league? It's because ALL of the teams in England play with a low block against Arsenal. When we see Arsenal in Europe, they are more free flowing than the opposition they encounter in England.
And lastly, I believe Arsenal still haven't reached their peak. When they were not conceding goals, they had a back four of Calafiori, Saliba, Gabriel, and Timber (they haven't feature together since I believe October). When Arsenal was slapping teams 3-0, 5-0, two years ago this time, Havertz was their 9. Honestly, he is the best 9 (albeit a false nine) that provides the width and runs Arsenal need in England. If Arteta ever starts playing Havertz at the 9, and gives him regular starts, we'll see a different Arsenal. Furthermore, I really believe the worst team to ever win the league was United back in 96-97 with a total points record of 75. (Arsenal already have 50).
