Right, that’s true. But I also think he’s referring on how to use sites to place wagers. Because in California, you can’t use betting sites like bet365, betmgm, Draftkings, or FanDuel since California hasn’t fully legalized sports betting. You typically have to use offshore sites like bovada or bet online. But the problem with those, since unlike in Europe and the UK, we Americans are taxed on winnings, you guys aren’t. So the safer/more relaxed way is to use websites such as prize picks or Kalshi, which aren’t betting markets per se, but predictions that are similar to betting, and more traded like stocks. So those sites, prize picks and Kalshi, are legal in California. In fact, they’re legal everywhere where sports betting isn’t fully legal in the USA.
