You really do learn something new every day when it comes to the providers we talk about—at least I do. Just yesterday, after writing about Maya Bijou joining TA’s roster, I was pointed toward some information that I don’t think many people know. It might have one or two of us taking a closer look at Maya herself. Mind you, most of this is years old, and while some of it is confirmed, a good amount is speculation. Not all, but some. Here’s the story: Dezerae Lyons (Maya Bijou) and Daniela Love—both 18 at the time and working in the adult industry—met a man named Niles (the eventual victim) at a Hollywood nightclub. There was a lot of drinking, some making out, and eventually, they all ended up at a friend’s apartment. That’s when things reportedly went south. According to Lyons, once Niles found out the women were porn actresses, he lost it—started insulting them, and a loud, drawn-out argument broke out. After about 45 minutes of this, Lyons called her boyfriend to come pick them up.
Soon after, her boyfriend and a friend arrived—allegedly armed—and from Lyons’ side of the story, Niles, who was supposedly high and aggressive, kept coming at them. That’s when the shooting happened. Multiple rounds were fired, Niles ran off, but collapsed nearby and died from his wounds.
Now, both the boyfriend and his friend are facing murder charges, potentially looking at 50-to-life. While everyone involved that night was reportedly intoxicated or under the influence, the stories from witnesses mostly agree that things just went off the rails.
There are rumors—and again, emphasis on rumors—that this might’ve been a setup by Maya. That she had crossed paths with Niles before, felt disrespected, and used this moment to settle the score. These claims started swirling later, especially after an unrelated altercation involving Maya and another woman added fuel to the fire.
Now, anything’s possible. Personally, this sounds like a wrong-place-wrong-time type of situation. We all know setups happen in real life, but this specific story seems like a tragic escalation more than anything else. That second altercation? It honestly sounds like typical baby mama drama that spiraled. And let’s be real—some of the stuff Maya allegedly said isn’t a great look, but we've seen similar behavior from plenty of people in and out of the industry. That doesn’t make it okay, but it does remind us that these women are still people, and unfortunately, they make messy human decisions like everyone else.
Like most adult actresses, Maya has her share of baggage. I personally don’t think that’s enough to write her off. She’s gone through some serious shit, and whether you feel sympathy, skepticism, or something in between, look into it yourself and form your own opinion. Transparency in this community matters—and this is just part of that.
