Apparently a provider blocked my number for doing what her post on Twitter (posted a number to text for rates) asked me to do. If this is the only way for people to know what your rates are, why block them for sending a text to the number you provide to let them know what your rates are?

This is just one of them providers who are very strict on business, as in "Don't contact me unless ready to book". If that is the case then she herself should've posted her rates publicly so the only legit text she gets are people ready to book.

A general rule of thumb, if you’re not working through an agency, it’s best to reach out to an independent provider only when you’re deposit ready and prepared to book. That alone often changes the tone of the response. That said, it does sound like you avoided a headache. If appropriate, consider discreetly sharing the details who she is so others can be informed and avoid unnecessary drama.

Exactly, it's a blessing. You don't want a session with someone like this. Same reason you should look at their twitter feed before booking. If it's filled with screenshots of various interactions with potential clients and pointing out all the things the client did wrong (and in some cases doxing the client), this is not someone you want to see. Overly negative, jaded and chances are she will nitpick and find something you did wrong too without even knowing. Just avoid negative people like this in all aspects of life.

Funny thing is, I actually was deposit ready, just didn't have a set date in mind since she didn't have rates posted and this would be a traveling situation. So, if she had been a little nicer and more professional, I would have set a date.

Although I don't understand why, many of the independent girls only want you to contact them when you:
- Are deposit ready
- Know the location you want to meet
- Have the date set when you want to meet
They believe their rate shouldn't matter if you are ready and wanting to see them. They see you as a waste of time if you contact them and don't have the above ready.

But devil's advocate I understand why many providers only want contact once you're ready to book. Have to imagine a bunch of people have no intention to meet up and are just spamming them regularly, feel like that's got to be one of the biggest drawbacks of being independent.

I understand that, but they should also understand that when they put up a post telling people to "text for rates" they should understand that they are going to get people who would like to know their rates, especially when they aren't available anywhere else. But again, I'm glad this bullet was dodged and I can put my money towards a better provider.

I was looking at some stuff on Amy Taylor..apparently she was doxxing guys just cuz they were " idiots" wherever that means.

Well , it helps weed out the serious ones from those still in the " inquiring " stage...and avoid going back ans forth with emails all day, so the call me when you're ready, DOES make sense.

But a Professionalism does go a long way
