Honesty Should be In a Providers Policy

As much as some of us are willing to admit, honesty between providers and clients is rare. Some providers don’t feel the need to tell you everything—or even the truth—since they don’t know you, at least not initially. That said, some of us have built special relationships with providers, ones we choose to keep to ourselves not out of selfishness, but out of respect and courtesy. Every so often, though, a provider puts herself out there in a way that makes seeing her feel like a mission. However, I’m not sure if this one falls into that category.

This "provider"—and I put that in quotes because I’m still undecided if she’s real—recently posted on social media that she has gonorrhea. She put it out there, plain as day, and her objective was clear in the post.

Cereza Caress believes in honesty. Full transparency is part of her policy, and in her mind, that includes letting clients know about her STI. When I read this, I couldn’t help but wonder: How many providers would actually do this?

This isn’t something we see often in the hobby—a provider openly admitting she has an STI. I don’t personally know many providers who have had an STD/STI, but that doesn’t mean they haven’t; it just means I wasn’t told. With many STIs, someone can remain silent, take the proper medication, and be back in action in three weeks or so. Providers can easily make up an excuse for a break or simply say nothing at all—which is obviously risky. This level of honesty is something I’d call infrequent, to say the least.

As strange as it may sound, I’d book this provider for her honesty alone. Gonorrhea-free, of course, but you get what I mean. A lot of us jump into this world without knowing much about testing or even caring. To have someone who’s upfront about something so serious and personal puts them in a league of their own in this hobby.

I might be in the minority here, but she could easily be worth any price—and I’d be willing to pay it.
