I wrote about this subject once before and it looks as if they're taking another crack at it in the industry. At home STI test are still being pushed by the industry for numerous factors but no one seems to be taking them to seriously. To this day I still don't know anyone whether professional or not using these STI test and I for one am very confused as to why. The industry is going as far as too push the major benefits as to why taking an at home STI is beneficial waying the pros over the obvious cons.

I can't see as to why this wouldn't be a good idea for both SWers and us as clients. Clients who love BBFS as much as the actual adult entertainers could find this more appealing, though whether the pros and cons are relevant might be besides the point.

In a recent article by Andreas M. Kogelnik, he went through the pros of having an at home STI test. Breaking them down piece by piece with some really good points that bother a lot of us here today.

Better Access in Rural Areas
For clients in rural locations, home-collected STI tests eliminate travel time and costs. They also offer better testing options, like multisite swabs, which improve accuracy without added expense. A number of us hate that we can't get to a testing facility or that the facility runs out of test kits (which is fucking ridiculous.) At home kits would help with that in a major way.

Less Downtime and Enhanced Earnings
Early STI detection and fast results from home tests reduce downtime, helping us avoid costly treatments and interruptions to our days. Any kind of STI detection is helpful that reduces the time it takes for me to enjoy myself.

Lower Health Insurance Premiums
Frequent testing can lead to lower health insurance for both us, allowing savings to support other aspects of the hobby. To many of us are talking about how expensive it is to take test even with us paying out the pocket.

All of these and more seem like a great course for us to go by, but I don't believe it would go over very well. Regardless on how many people get at home sti test the fact that it's not being down in a real facility is the problem. The kit can have all of the proper equipment and the logos to the official sites can be all over the kit, but it's not in an actual facility. This isn't something people can trust and until it is these kits will only be used in faculties with actual professionals.

It really is annoying but even I would second guess a home kit.
