Another week. Another day of betting! If I don't have confidence in a pick, I will NOT pick this week. Because fuck it I'm not having another Saturday where I'm going 5-3 when I could have gone 5-0. 12 Team Parlay this time around.
NCAA:
Purdue (+28.5)(L) - Oregon just got off of an emotional home win against Ohio State. The Ducks have cemented themselves as the best team in the Big Ten. Now they need to travel across the country to play a Purdue team that's improving every week on a Friday night? It's human nature to see that Oregon will be caught sleeping on the wheel a few times. Also, Purdue is no stranger to these sorts of games, as they have done it before. Oregon will likely win, but 28.5 is WAY too big of a spread.
NFL
THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL:
Denver(-2)(W) - Denver is humming. Saints have injuries everywhere, and with Shaheed requiring surgery and Olave out, who on God's green earth is Spencer fucking Rattler going to throw to? New Orleans won't be able to score too many points, and with Sean Payton coming back to the Big Easy, he's going to want to win an emotional one. Not to mention, Denver has avoided the injury bug for the most part, while it has decimated the Saints.
UK:
NE@JAC UNDER 42.5(L) - Favorites tend to do a lot better in the UK. Doug Pederson is fighting for his job. If he loses to a team that's projected to be picking in the top 5 in April, I guarantee that Lurie will be leaving Doug at the tarmac in Heathrow. However, have you checked the weather? Rain in the forecast with 20 mph winds. That doesn't bode well for a QB that's a rookie flying across the pond, and a QB who looks like he's completely shot. I think both teams will try to keep it on the ground more than usual, hence I'm taking the under.
1 PM ET:
Miami(+3.5)(L) - The reason why sharps have been hammering Miami was because of Anthony Richardson. He's not good, and that's not even the worst part. Indy's defense is atrocious, and Miami is good on the ground. I predict Achane will have a good day rushing and McDaniel will want to keep the ball away from Thompson/Huntley/whoever the fuck is starting.
Atlanta(-2.5)(L) - Seattle is a huge public underdog right now. Atlanta is not as good as their record states, but they're not as bad as the public thinks they are. You know I love fading the public.
Green Bay(-2.5)(L) - Like Seattle, the public is putting too much love on C.J. Stroud. He's not the same QB on the road as he is at home. Meanwhile, Jordan Love is playing better every week, and Christian Watson had a nice game last week. Also there's a coaching mismatch going on here. I expect that to continue so I'm taking GB, especially at this number.
Cleveland(+7.5)(W) - I hate it. I absolutely fucking hate it. But here's the thing. Cincinnati isn't great. Jim Schwartz knows how to slow down Joe Burrow. This is a division game. Nobody is supporting the Browns from the public. Guess what that means? The sharps are at the right spot. Give me Cleveland +7.5 even though it tastes like unseasoned boiled chicken.
NYG(+3.5)(L) - I hate this bet as well. If this was -2.5 I'd be taking Philly. Again, like above, this is a division game and they tend to be closer and/or have underdogs winning outright. Daboll is a great coach, while Sirianni just got into a spat with a fan. Give me Giants.
Detroit(+3.5)(W) - I bet this very early on when it came out. I bet it at +2.5 and bought a point. I just don't see why the pros have caught onto Detroit yet. Doesn't make sense to me. Detroit is also a huge public dog. This is the one team where I'm with the public. Give me Detroit until the train going to anywhere derails.
Kansas City (+1.5)(W) - Mahomes as a DOG? Don't need to say more. Give me KC.
NYJ(-1.5)(L) - Jets got Tae. Pittsburgh might start Wilson. Idk what the fuck Tomlin is doing. Give me Jets.
TB(+3.5)(L) - Both defenses suck. Middle of the field will be wide open for BOTH teams. Evans will likely play despite the soft tissue injury. Baltimore may win but I see Baker doing a backdoor cover.
EDIT #1: Malik Nabers has been cleared to play Sunday. That makes me feel slightly better since I really don't trust Philly's defense.
