Here’s the truth: having a high enough libido is the key to this hobby and to a satisfying sex life — full stop. Libido isn’t just about age or how your plumbing performs; it’s driven by hormones (testosterone matters), brain chemistry , stress, sleep, mental health and overall cardiovascular health.
You can be 25 and feel flat, or 60 and be like a raging bull when it comes to libido.
Low desire is rooted in the brain and hormones, so no amount of “blood-flow” hacks will make you want sex if the desire simply isn’t there. That´s bottom line.
That’s also why supplements that target circulation - the ones I tested like L-Arginine and L-Citrulline, which aim to improve blood flow, can help with the mechanical side of getting hard, but they’re no "silver bullet" for desire.
The nitric-oxide pathway is the most important thing for erectile function, yet desire is regulated upstream in the brain and by hormones, mood and reward.
For me - I´m only 28 but experienced low libido but when I push through and actually book a session, the sex drive comes back once the action (primarily DFK) and also dopamine kick in.
I think we're all chasing better sex and with that - a big libido/sex drive has to be there.
Quality sleep is one of the biggest keys to a good libido, as I mentioned in this post.
As a side note, I was a bit lazy during much of the year when it comes to being physically active but the last 1,5 month I´d say, I have been walking 8,000-12,000 steps a day and I do feel a difference in my sex drive - to the positive side.
On top of that, I´m going to be testing 2 supplements which is said to increase libido or at least help to make it higher/more stable during the remainder of the year - i will be writing a new post about my experiences with these two forms of tablets in the new year.
