Writing the title for this feels a little bad, but it's not my words—Aubrey Kate said them herself.
I’d always heard rumors that Aubrey provided at one point, way before I really took an interest in trans women. Funny how life works, because now my interest has definitely grown. But after hearing her talk like this, I’m honestly glad I never booked her back then—and I definitely wouldn’t if she ever came back.
I can't help but feel a little annoyed. In the video, she says:
The video is short, but it gives a clear glimpse into the mentality Aubrey had when she was a provider. It shows that true "I don’t give a fuck" frame of mind that probably was more common back then, but now feels a little rarer—at least depending on where you’re looking for providers.
This whole "quick in and out" mindset companions had (and probably still have, depending where you look) can seriously backfire nowadays. We're in the digital age now where everything spreads fast and reputations matter a lot more. It's just a little disappointing that someone like Aubrey Kate—someone who made such a huge impact—is also someone you now have to second guess.
In a small way, though, you have to respect the honesty. It's clear Aubrey has no plans to come back to providing. If she did, a video like this would definitely hurt her chances more than help—even though, let’s be real, some would still book her because it's Aubrey Kate. She was a powerhouse in the industry, especially when it came to breaking ground for trans performers. Which is why all of this hits a little differently.
