I'm not the type to dictate how people should manage their finances, especially when it comes to this hobby. I might throw in some suggestions every now and then, but I'll never outright advise someone to spend their money on a specific person or thing. Take, for example, a recent situation.
There's this provider who posted on her Wishtender asking for a $3,000 crowdfunding campaign to stay in a swanky suite in New York. She says it's a way to "treat herself" to a private balcony suite, but she's essentially asking others to foot the bill. Now, I'm not entirely sure about how providers conduct their business, but asking for people to cover your hotel room expenses without any promise of meeting in person seems a bit off.
It would make more sense if she was seeking sponsorship from a client, where they would at least spend some quality time together during that visit. But this crowdfunding idea just doesn't seem like a wise use of funds for anyone contributing. It's good to see that the crowdfunding campaign hasn't garnered a single cent in four days. Thankfully, the simps aren't falling for this one.
