Summer time is coming and I've already notice how the hobby has slowed down I've written about this before, but I feel like people should be reminded since this isn't really common knowledge. The summer always feels like and has continued to be one of the slowest times for a client. A lot of us don't notice it as much only seeing it when it really starts to affect them. That only happens when their ATF goes MIA or just flat out tells them they aren't booking. There are a lot of reasons as to why providers take this few months off during the hot season. All of it just coinciding with downtime.
Whether we want to admit or not, a lot of us have civilian lives. In said civi lives some of us have kids. There's no school for kids to go to leaving places like camps and programs for them to attend only for a moderate amount of time. Then you have some of us who enjoy going on vacations wit our kids and building those memories that will most likely shape them to be an adult. All around just spending times with our wives and that is usually impossible given the complexity of the daily lives of school and work. This could be the biggest reason why providers slow down. They know that their usual clientele won't be available like they usually are, so while they're on vacation the providers decided to go on one as well. Leading into another reason.
Providers taking vacation time. There are a lot of providers who enjoy going on tour 24/7. We see them everyday on directories and even on agency sites. Some of us think nothing of it as the tour year around, but after awhile this begins to take a toll. Often we can go weeks or months without seeing that provider. The provider isn't dumb, she's going to take the time off where she know it'll be more beneficial for her to do so. That time is usually during the summer.
If they don't go on hiatus for the summer then the provider will just be staying in her base city much longer. There's no point in them touring unless it's guaranteed they'll have clients waiting for them there. It won't be lucrative finically if they're going to a city only for them to be in a hole with travel and hotel fees.
Final, the financial side of things. This speaks to both sides the provider and client. As the client who may or may not have a family the summer time can be finically hard on some. The family man is paying for more of everything as the family spends more time together. This is whether you're on vacation on at home, your family is there and if you look at it as a small or big way money starts to get tight. The single man doesn't really have that problem. They can still book whoever whenever, however, unless the provider they're looking for is based in his area the touring provider he's going to want to see probably won't make there way over there anytime soon. Unless, he specifically makes it worth their wild.
Financial speaking, the provider has it the hardest in the summer. With clientele slowing down they have to often sit still and wait for summer to be over. As I said before, unless the provider can make a profit visiting these cities it doesn't make sense to do so. That's making a profit after, airfare, hotel fees, lingerie, makeup, perfume, whatever you can think of that goes into meeting a provider they have to see a return on that. Sadly, some of they just don't as much as others. So, providing in their base city seems like the only logical choice.
However any of us want to look at it, this does give us time to gain perspective. As enjoyable as the hobby is some of us do need time away in order to just take a breather. Not to get burned out from everything that comes with being in the hobby, because some of us can get exhausted by it. Not me, I'm in this shit 24/7 and I love it. Though not a lot if us have that love for the sport.
My opinion, see who you want to see now. There's still some time before summer is officially upon us, so seeing that special provider shouldn't be hard. Although, waiting never hurt anyone but you never know when or if that provider will be back. Just a though.
