Reaching out to my fellow Members who test regularly for BBFS. I want to know if you have experienced something similar and if you guys have any tips.
Yesterday I went to go get tested at the same facility I have been for the past year. Never had an issue getting blood drawn until yesterday. Know beforehand that I was very hydrated as I am fully aware that you need to be to get your blood drawn. I did not have any coffee or alcohol the day before or day of.
I was so hydrated that when I arrived to the testing facility I told him that I needed to give my urine sample ASAP. After giving my urine sample and doing my swabs next was the blood to be drawn. Three different women and seven different pokes and still no blood. They told me to come back after 4:00 p.m. when there would be a new individual that is more experienced.
Showed up after 4:00 p.m. and this new individual poked me an additional four different times and was only able to get one vial with not enough of it filled. She stated that she can no longer continue and that I can come back tomorrow.
The two areas where the regularly draw my blood which is on my left arm on the right side and on my left hand on top are now a bit bruised, swollen, and tender from the multiple attempts. Should I go back today? Should I wait until Thursday? I can't wait until Friday because I need my results for my date on Saturday afternoon.
Besides being very hydrated I read I can ask to lay down and dangle my arms to get the blood flow higher to my arms. Ask for a hit compress to plump my veins. All this and more was identified in Google but looking for personal experience tips. Thank you in advance for your feedback.
Also if there is an medical professionals in the forum any concerns about getting poked so many times?
