It's been quite some time since I heard about a client getting caught in the act by the police. I hadn't come across much news on this front lately, so I had assumed that as hobbyists, we had become adept enough to avoid such situations. However, it seems I was mistaken in that assumption.
The client in question didn't provide a lot of details about the sting operation. All he could mention was that the moment he stepped out of his car, the police apprehended him and filed charges against him. This caught my attention since I've never heard of a sting operation moving so swiftly. Based on my research, officers typically need to catch you in the act before they can press any charges. The most evidence this particular client had was the information on his phone, likely showing his conversations with the officer. This is something they could potentially use against you, especially if you grant them consent to inspect your phone.
Clearly, there are aspects of this process that have either been updated to adapt to changing times, or I might have missed some details due to my own lifestyle.
