After the situation that took place in May, I decided to become more acquainted with PASS. I’ve quickly learned that whatever happens to adult performers in their careers can affect us all the same. What I found on the site in terms of statistics is more than concerning, but that’s not what I’m speaking on today. This is more about making testing easier for us by using a certified partner of PASS.
ProDX is one of five certified partners under PASS. When I say certified, that means when you get tested through ProDX—or one of the other affiliate partners—your results are sent directly to PASS. That might sound like nothing, but in reality, it’s more for your sex partner than for you. It gives them the best thing you can offer when you’re about to be intimate with someone they don’t really know: peace of mind. Even though ProDX isn’t a name a lot of us have heard before, it’s more than enough to give your partner confidence.
Even though ProDX is certified, it really isn’t all that different from other sites. The one thing that makes ProDX stand out just a little more is that they offer what some don’t—an at-home test kit. I’ve mentioned at-home kits before: they’re extremely convenient but often looked down on because some professionals argue they’re not “real” tests. To them, being in a facility is the only way to go, since it’s more official and leaves little room for error when handled by medical professionals.
Personally, I don’t see much of a difference. Whether you’re testing yourself at home or having it done in a facility, the results don’t lie. Your blood being drawn, urine being collected, or asshole being swabbed can’t be tricked by a machine. Now, sure, there’s always the thought of someone using an at-home kit for nefarious reasons—things I’d rather not write out in detail for fear of someone trying it. But you’d have to be a real piece of shit to even go there, and unfortunately, this industry isn’t completely free of those types.
For clients, the benefits of using ProDX are clear. Skipping the travel to a facility means more time can be put toward creating a better experience with a provider. And with ProDX being PASS certified, it may carry weight with providers who are open to bare sex, especially among PS providers. Still, don’t hold your breath. At the end of the day, it’s entirely up to the provider whether she chooses to go bare with a client, and while ProDX may give you a leg up, it still might not be enough to convince most professionals.
