The give and take we should have with Canada doesn’t really seem to exist. I’m not even talking about the political shit between our two countries—though I’d be lying if I said that wasn’t part of it. What I mean is that Canada seems to get way more stateside providers than we get Canadian providers. I honestly don’t know how I hadn’t noticed this before.
It hit me while I was looking at providers set to tour Canada. Over the next couple of weeks, at least two or three PS providers are heading there. I don’t know if some kind of event is happening or what, but lately—and for the past several weeks—Canada has been getting a lot of love. Stars like Ariana Starr
(Alluring Intros), Sky Pierce, Shay Sights, and Hazel Moore
(Porn Companions) all make frequent appearances across the border. Sky and Shay, I believe, have a connection with Canada, so that makes sense. But even then, we don’t see U.S.-based regulars making appearances there nearly as much.
And don’t think I haven’t had my eyes on more than a few providers up in maple country. Pink Doll, Lena, Jessica Gianna—all of them are at the top of their provider careers in Canada, and I promise you there are plenty more. I shit you not, if you looked up any of these women, you’d understand exactly what I mean.
I’m not blaming Canadian providers for this either. But they really do avoid the States like we’re the plague. As I said, the political climate could play a small role, but even before the mess we’re in now, Canadian providers weren’t coming south. So it can’t just be that. Honestly, I’m at a loss. Maybe it’s border control, maybe law enforcement, maybe immigration. Maybe it’s all of the above—or none of it. There’s really no clear answer outside of hearing a provider’s personal opinion. What’s obvious, though, is that stateside providers find it easier to go to Canada, while Canadian providers don’t seem to want to come here. Why? Who knows. Either way, it sucks.
I’m not trying to sound ungrateful. The States have some of the best providers around, no doubt. But every so often, you want to try something new. We do get our fair share of international providers from across the Atlantic, and I should appreciate that. I’m not wishing for our Canadian brethren to lose out on the amazing providers crossing over from our side. But maybe—just maybe—Canadian providers need a little nudge.
It feels like the exchange is a little one-sided. We’re sending plenty of talent north, while we’re left waiting on the slim chance that a Canadian provider makes her way down here. Maybe it’s logistics, maybe it’s politics, or maybe it’s just preference—but whatever the reason, the gap is real. I’m not saying Canada owes us, but a little more balance wouldn’t hurt. Until then, all we can do is admire from afar and hope a few of those maple-country providers decide the States are worth a visit.
