I’m interested in what the hive mind thinks about this.
Tuesday night, about 30 hours after my date with Alexis ended, I started feeling a bit under the weather. I woke up Wednesday morning with a nasty head cold, sinus congestion, very sore throat, head and face pain, some body aches and later in the day, a slight fever.
I didn’t know whether I was exposed to something before I saw her and potentially exposed her to it, whether she had been exposed to something and given it to me, or if I’d gotten exposed to something after I’d left her. We were both totally fine during our date so I knew it wasn’t intentional either way.
Out of respect for her, I texted her when I woke up Wednesday morning to let her know how I was feeling and that she should take Airborne or Emergen-C to be safe. I didn’t reach out Tuesday night because I thought maybe I was just tired and would sleep it off, and didn’t want to be an alarmist.
Thankfully, as of yesterday late morning, she was still feeling fine, so I’m hopeful it was something I picked up after I left her. But she seemed genuinely surprised and appreciative that I would give her a heads up about this.
Is this something that’s happened to anyone before? If so, what have you done? Have you/would you reach out to a provider to let them know you’d come down with something so they could take precautions?
