OnlyFans has recently been hit with a class action lawsuit filed late last year. The lawsuit was triggered by growing suspicions among users who began to realize that the women they were chatting with on the platform weren’t actually the content creators themselves.

By now, most people familiar with the OF space know that it's heavily populated with so-called “chatters”—third-party individuals hired to respond to messages on behalf of the models. Fortunately, more and more men are starting to wake up to this reality. What makes the situation especially deceptive is that users are rarely, if ever, told upfront that they’re speaking to a hired assistant rather than the model they’re paying to interact with.

Here’s how it usually works: OnlyFans management (OFM) agencies reach out to creators, promising them increased earnings and subscriber growth if they sign up for full-service management. These agencies then outsource the messaging work to individuals in underdeveloped countries, hiring them for very low wages - but higher than what they could earn otherwise in their home country. This creates a win-win situation for the OFM agencies—they scale easily and profit greatly from the girls content.

While I understand that popular pornstars who receive 200+ messages a day need help managing their inbox, my issue is with mid-tier OnlyFans models—those who have moderate followings on X, Instagram etc. These creators likely don’t receive an overwhelming number of messages and could easily respond to fans themselves. Yet many still rely on chatters, not because they need to, but because the agency convinces them it’s the norm.

So here’s my question: Are there still any genuine OnlyFans creators out there—especially among the mid-tier ones—who actually do their own chatting and engage with fans personally?

Not that I´m interested in chatting with any of these mid-tier OF models, but it would be useful to know.

Allow me to ask a common sense question, respectfully

Do you really think that every single pornstar on any of these apps is on her phone texting her fans at the piss crack of dawn every single day until she goes to bed?

Do you not find if a little strange that every day at 728 you get a message from the same girl, then 2 minutes later get a very similar message from another girl is is equally popular and the too frequently collaborate so it’s very likely that they’re using the same service which would explain why the two messages are similar ? Do think they are in bed cordnaiting these DMs together saying let’s message Chad first then Brad then Jeff after breakfast

Simple as this, the pornstar is a brand and esssently the big names license their name and brand to a chatter service who then get a % for the monthly revenue.and they get what we like to call passive income, (other than the shooting content part but that’s easy and takes 1 day a week for keep things fresh)
You’re not talking to the real person, unless you are paying to specifically video/voice chat with this person. That is why you are never able to book a video call without some lead time for 95% of girls

Going to be totally honest here, I am actually involved in one of the lawsuits against onlyfans. Luckily didn’t lose a ton of money falling for things and caught onto it pretty quickly but I had some blatant examples I shared with the legal team to help the case along.

Also to be clear: I don’t blame any model for using chatters. I blame onlyfans for 1) saying specifically in the terms of use that you were talking directly to the models until that changed a year or so ago and 2) rarely offering refunds when something was done wrong or it was clear you weren’t.

It’s a bad company with bad business practices. Had they just said from the start that they could not guarantee you were talking to a specific model at any specific time then none of this would ever have been an issue.

Agree though they are fighting the lawsuits and they’re worth a ton of money. It’s amazing to me the amount that flows through that platform on a monthly or annual basis.

Also, unfortunately, if this platform goes down completely and the lives of some of these models get harmed should they not be prepared with a backup plan, going to have some very pissed off porn people who may not hesitate to try and “handle” things in illegal ways shall we say.

I’ve already had an issue with one woman that was a cause for concern over safety. I used a situation with her as an example of fake chatters while making it clear I didn’t blame her and not her fault it’s the company and her agency more than anything but when ya mess with people’s livelihood and income they aren’t too happy.

Some guys do absurd things. They think they’re having a relationship. And while that is kinda psychotic it’s also unfair for chatters to lead them on for months or years as the model because the platform claimed it had to be the model or they’d be suspended for violating the terms of service.

If you send video of your dick for a rating and some dude in Bangladesh is rating it and not the model I can see how that would be upsetting to some.

There are other ways it sucks just not as bad. I have a couple of unique ways that most would never consider. Not sure I want to share but they are very different than the common story.

And yes I don’t blame the models. No way for them to handle all the messages and request they get. If they tried they’d literally never sleep or have time for activities.

I happen to love onlyfans.... for me it's porn that's customizable that the stars put out. The allure is it's not produced, but you're buying content from the creators mind.

It's different then watching a directed scene by a production company.

For that reason I feel it has it's place.

Also you buy whatever you're into.

If you can seperate the need to chat then it's alot of fun.

Of course my perspective is skewed because I'm friendly with dozens of pornstars so I don't feel the need to chat on OF.

I’ve spent a limited amount of time on OF, none of which was during its infancy (ie, before the proliferation of chatters), so perhaps I’m missing some key context, but I don’t see how the content creators could be absolved of all blame for actions they themselves have taken (hiring chatters, claiming old content is new, not fulfilling orders), while conversely, OF could be fully to blame for actions taken by third parties (the creators and chatters) solely because (a) they didn’t anticipate at launch that not every interaction on the platform would come from the creators themselves (a lack of foresight and imagination certainly, but not a reason for them to bear all blame) and (b) once the existence/usage of chatters became clear to them, they didn’t act to shut them down completely (virtually impossible to do, I’d suspect) or didn’t change their ToS soon enough (an accurate complaint from what I’ve read, but again, not something that would fully absolve the creators IMO).
