As of this morning a lot of flights except Southwest Airlines are canceled due to that fallout from crowdstrike update.
Why Southwest is not impacted ? They are running ancient windows OS.

A Windows version from 1992 is saving Southwest’s butt right now

Southwest hasn't been impacted by the CrowdStrike outage, and that's reportedly because it's still running Windows 3.1.

So it is not just windows - crowdstrike source code had a flaw they ignored for quite some time and broke Linux in April which no one knew or cared:

CrowdStrike broke Debian and Rocky Linux months ago, but no one noticed

CrowdStrike recently caused a widespread Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) issue on Windows PCs, disrupting various sectors. However, this was not an isolated incident, CrowdStrike affected Linux PCs also.

I had a flight out in the early morning Friday. Earlier that evening I saw rumblings on FB from friends across the world about big IT problems, but didn't think anything of it.

When I was getting dropped off around 4AM, I took one step into the airport and said, this looks really odd for 4AM, as all the counters were full. I told my family to go to a cell phone lot, just in case, until I gave the green light. I checked the board for various flights cancelled, American, Delta, United, etc., then looked at the various SW flights... On Time, On Time, On Time.

WTF? Did SW do something to fix their last fiasco, where all of a sudden everyone, but them, was having a problem today?

I didn't bother checking the SW counter, since I asked to be dropped off near where the elevators to the terminal was, too long a walk to be worth it.

Long story short, I ended up minding my own business. But I was relieved my flight was ok. I could hear conversations of various people in the boarding area of my flight, also relieved that they got a spot. But, what took a little longer to realize is that all these folks were supposed to be on flights earlier the night before, all on other carriers.

Makes me wonder if it is staged.

As of today everything is not back up and it is the biggest IT outage in the history of US not caused by hackers but human error or negligence. The CEO has to testify before congress on why he let them happen under his watch.

It is not a cyber attack from any foreign country but really bad code written by crowdstrike that has access to windows OS kernel. It finally came to light about this bad code being ticking time bomb. Crowdstrike has retired FBI DOD and CIA ditectors on the payroll and has been the most renown cybersecurity firm in the world which is why Fortune 500 are all their customers. There is no cover up as their code is being dissected by many. Hackers can only dream about being this successful for bragging rights or asking for ransom.

I know a lot of airlines and studios among other business is still down. In other news - crowdstrike offers 10 dollar vouchers as apology and they did not work:
