There is no way to justify it, diminishing marginal utility and arbitrary price points without corresponding measurable value/returns makes it irrational for me. Pateks will only appreciate in value and more expensive ones even more so. The same can’t be said for providers and the experience they provide.

It’s a fleeting experience with no added value or benefit beyond a certain threshold. And there’s many alternatives that are far more affordable and realistically priced with the same or better service and quality/appearance. It’s just vanity/ego pricing. Out of touch with reality.

Same here. I have been on both sides of the fence as well (albeit not in a per hour sense, more of a “bulk booking” sense that was still an exorbitant amount overall and reasonable if broken down per hour) so I completely understand why people spend the money. I guess you could say I’ve done this long enough that I’ve become inured to it/jaded in a sense. No longer as much of a curious cat as I used to be.
