I’m lucky enough to book a BBFS session but her city is not near a TTS clinic. I have one of those partner clinics nearby, but I’m concerned if there’s anything I should be aware of?

I plan on testing 5 days before in case there’s supply or shipping issues.

Anyone have experience with using a non-TTS clinic?

I test at a partner clinic in DC and it's nothing but easy. Never had delayed results, tracking is on point, etc...

I will say that MOST of the time, it's smooth for me using one of the places in and around NYC. Just don't test on a Friday, pay for Saturday delivery and expect it to happen, because that's hit and miss. I don't even test on Thursdays anymore because if there's a delay shipping until Friday and you only paid for priority overnight, the package will ship Friday and arrive Monday, and the samples will be 4 days old and won't be usable. I tested on a Wednesday in December and the samples didn't ship until Thursday and got tested on Friday. If the same thing had happened a day later, I'd be SOL because samples are only good for 3 days.

I wouldn’t bother with shipping if a girl wanted previous day results. If she has a 7 day window, then I pick Monday just to give wiggle room for problems.

My anxiety always has me assuming everything that has a chance of fucking up will, so i try to mitigate as much as possible.

Problems I've personally experienced at least once testing at non-core locations (~40 tests):

• Draw facility didn't have test kits
• Draw facility didn't have ice
• Had a "through and through" with the needle and my vein, causing a huge black and blue that lasted over a week
• Draw facility didn't ship/FedEx didn't pick up on time, shipment delayed a day
• FedEx got the package on time, didn't deliver on time for the midday test run
• Test results were inconclusive, needed to be re-run
• Test results were delayed for about 20 hours due to an administrative issue
• Draw facility didn't pack the samples correctly, blood wasn't on ice, samples couldn't be run, needed to re-test
• Paid extra for Saturday shipping, package didn't get there until Monday anyway, had to have TTS credit my account
• Had a couple of overly friendly nurses/PAs/phlebotomists talk to me about TTS and Exxxotica and how often I was testing

So yeah, I've got that anxiety, too, or maybe some PTSD. I always call the facility ahead of time to confirm they have a test kit and only test Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. I've even tested on a Wednesday and again the following Monday or Tuesday just so I'd be <7 days tested for someone Monday or Tuesday and again for someone else on Friday.
