So out of nowhere, I got three calls from +1 (530) 580-7829 and then a series of texts saying I caused them to lose 2 girls from their business and they are...

So out of nowhere, I got three calls from +1 (530) 580-7829 and then a series of texts saying I caused them to lose 2 girls from their business and they are from the escort service and I need to pay up or my family will face the consequences. They sent a text of my full name and my address. Kinda freaking me out but I also just filled out my info for an escort agency that serves a city an hour away from me. Other than that, I have had nothing but great interactions so I’m confused and a bit nervous. Has anyone else dealt with this stuff before? It’s scaring me abit but I figure they are trying to extort me for money and it’s a random that got my info somehow? I don’t know.. apologies if this isn’t the right kind of post for here, just wasn’t sure where else to turn for this

I understand why you were on the fence, I would too if I received a text with my full name in it but I promise you that it´s nothing. Don't interract with that number, block it.

Its nothing. Has happened to me several times over the last couple years...clearly im still alive and so is my family...

Stop using your personal everyday phone for this type of engagement. Get a burner phone or a burner line.
Block the number and move on.
They will not do anything. If by crazy chance they do you can say your identity must have been stolen and you never engaged in an activity such as this. Deny, deny, deny.

Had this happen to me once. Ignored it. Didn't respond to anything they sent. They listed my name, address, and families first names. But they never responded again. Ignoring worked.

You might want to let escort agency, know as well. They may need to lock down their web portals better as sometimes there are data spills/malware the company doesn't even know about. Using a burner phone or app is great, but those who hold your data aka the escort agencies need to seriously care about the customers' data. At a certain level ignoring does work, as many are trying to get lucky with the phone calls. But I have had cases when it was some for real actors, and had to get law enforcement involved, link up with a crisis team, and have awkward talks with the family. The agency you mentioned at least writes that they are doing the needy to protect your data. https://www.carol-assistant.com/privacy-policy. But I hope they are using some breached data vendors to run their web domains to cover their clients asses, just saying.

I took your guys’ advice and just ignored them and their calls. They texted a couple times with threats but so far have left me alone so I think you were all right. They were just trying to scare me
