It´s really no secret that the porn industry as a whole was disrupted by the internet and therefore lost a lot of studios ways to generate money.
Some experts within the area even suggests that the adult entertainment industry has lost upwards of 70% of their revenue sources since 2005!

Back in the day, studios would make money by distributing their movies on DVDs and VHS tapes. Most studios also sold magazines.
Many studios which were active in the 90´s and 2000´s has been forced to close.
Less money is being spent on physical products and more on subscriptions, live cam sites, and direct creator support.

We´re going to see a lot of small studios close in the coming years. Only OF creators and big studios such as Brazzers and Naughty America are going to survive.

Personally I think it´s a huge shame. Many OF creators produces low quality content that would never be able to challenge studio productions.
I know that im not from that era and im maybe a little old fashioned in that way but there was just something about going down to a store to pick up a few physical copies of adult movies.

The problem with all of this, studios closing, a lot more studios being in financial trouble etc, is that this could eventually put big industry events such as the AVN Awards in danger.
