This and the fantasy football league was absolutely fun. For all of these events being our first go around its been pretty great experience. We just need to make it a bit more cleaner that's all.

Hey all - I don’t know how to say this other than everything was completely let up to the randomizing gods. I’ve run many pools like this one and while I can understand some people’s frustrations, I would never maliciously place someone in an unfair place on the board.

For example: @swytypy’s boxes were 11, 19, 29, 76, and 81. When random numbers are selected using an online randomizer, it’s completely unknown that it’s going into a matrix that will place in similar columns/rows. Those numbers are random when you look at them like that.

We did this very last minute and with my family obligations this weekend, I didn’t have time to organize a live drawing, especially considering the last boxes weren’t purchased until yesterday. Next year, if we do this again, I’ll get someone fun like Lisa Ann to do the drawing live so we can all see it.

I apologize if anyone feels let down with this process. I really wanted this to be fun for the community. Hopefully it will still be that. If anyone really feels like I did something off or not transparent, I’m happy to give my boxes to them.

And King - I’m going off the numbers that @trystagency sent me this morning. He had you down for 3 boxes. You can have two of mine if you’d like.

I was just piggybacking on what had been written here with a visual of how non-random my box placement seemed, although the explanation makes sense. I appreciate everyone who put time and effort into this.

I’ve never run a pool and don’t know what goes into it. Maybe there’s a different randomizer app/site that’s specifically geared toward pools like this so you don’t get what happened to me?

adding 'logic' to a randomizer, make its not random. random is messy. I would also point out that computers cant really do random, in true nature, so probably want to do some sort of human element next time, like rolling dice or picking from hat. no shade intended here.

I’ve seen this done before as well and agree that it’s good, especially for the early birds. It’s rougher when you get to a point where there’s almost no boxes left!

My daughter‘s dance studio has multiple grids and the person organizing them did it in the most disgustingly lazy way possible. We’re supposed to sell boxes to our friends and family to benefit the studio, but I don’t really like doing that (because I don’t like the studio) so I just bought 8 boxes and sold 2 to my mother and 2 to my mother-in-law, and took 4 for myself. They gave me 8 consecutive boxes, 79 through 86. When I complained, they said that that’s how they’re doing it. I got the grids yesterday and people are going to be very upset if they didn’t sell boxes to friends and family because there are several people on the different grids who have 20 to 30 consecutive boxes with their name on them.

I used to bartend and this is exactly how it is done then the numbers are drawn at a specific time and date. With proper planning this is the way to go

Then like someone suggested, have a gilr do a custom/cameo to draw the numbers
