"So I just got home from… I don’t even know if you can call it a date. More like a dinner between two.. acquaintances/"friends".
The girl was superb. As I mentioned in a different post, she’s from Brazil—which is amazing if you know my preferences. She had everything I could ask for in a girl. But despite that, the whole dinner just felt… dull. Not boring, we talked non-stop for four hours. But when I left, I had that “ehhhh” feeling. Like, is this really it? Even with a few beers in me, I couldn’t shake that sense of emptiness.
My usual driver picked me up and I tried to keep it together, but he knows me too well, lol.
He’s pushing 40 now, married and has a daughter. Congrats to him—or as he puts it, “my life is over,” hahaha. He used to be a hobbyist too. Lived in Thailand and all over Asia for a few years, so he’s seen and done it all. We ended up talking about life and he dropped a simple line that stuck with me:
“Live your life while you’re young.”
That hit hard—especially after tonight. I felt unfulfilled. Like I wasted time chasing something that didn’t lead anywhere.
So I’ve decided: I’m done seeing “regular” girls. I’m going to focus strictly on hobbying. What’s the point of going on dates if there’s no real payoff? I’m 28, in my prime, with 10 years of experience in this game.
