Trust me, it really isn’t. If something seems too good to be true… it almost always is.
I’ve been in many situations where I tried to hunt down the cheapest provider possible, and it has backfired 99% of the time.
Going on a price-scouting spree rarely works out. And when it fails, it doesn’t just fail quietly - it wastes time, money, and energy.
My most recent reminder came in mid-November 2025.
I had found a great-looking provider advertised at $125/hour, while the regular rate in my area is closer to $200/hour. Yes - I’m not kidding.

I texted her.
She replied.
The deal seemed on... Until it wasn’t.
I arrived at the address she gave me… and she was a complete no-show.
I stood outside her apartment, sent 5–10 texts, waited… nothing.
That right there was a solid lesson.
Not only did I still have to pay my regular cab driver, but I also burned 45 minutes for absolutely nothing and that is what hurts the most. Time wasted is worse than money lost.
Second lesson: there’s a huge number of fake ads out there, no matter which directory you’re using. Cheap pricing is often the bait.
Since then, I’ve stopped chasing “deals” at home. When I’m in my own country, I stick to:

In real life? They usually cost you more.
