I usually do incalls, but every now and then I switch it up—and both Airbnb and hotels definitely have their upsides and downsides. Most of the time I’ve had providers come to my own place, which can be interesting in itself, but I’ve also had 3–4 come over to an Airbnb I rented.
For me, it’s mainly about privacy. When you book regular providers, you never really know who’s waiting in the car outside or who the “driver” is—and I’d rather not have my own personal address tied up with strangers like that.
Another reason is that I genuinely like staying in Airbnbs.
It started back in 2019 when I booked one in Madrid with a provider—huge, spacious, modern, and perfect for making a good impression.
Ever since then, I usually go for the more spacious/luxury style places when I book. Personally, I’d take that over a hotel room any day, unless the hotel suite is actually bigger than a standard room. Plus, quite a few receptionists at hotels can be a bit strict or a little too nosy.
