The Whatever Podcast is disliked by so many of us for a strong reason. Their outlook on certain aspects of what a man is and what a woman should be are very admirable, but it isn’t the reality we live in. Sadly, that reality is long gone. If the podcast knew about us, I’m sure they would dislike us as well calling the community every name in the book. So, we’ve established that I don’t like them, and they surely wouldn’t like us. That being said, the only thing the podcast does right is showing a provider’s true colors. By this point, I’m sure you’ve all heard about the Ophelia Purr (Tryst Agency) incident.

soos6x2i2tvf1.jpgThe incident I’m referring to is the comment that was made on the podcast. Ophelia was telling the viewers about herself, and when she brought up her age, the host started to dissect her comment. Ophelia said she was 16 when she moved to Los Angeles and acquired a fake ID. She then commented that she used the fake ID to begin shooting porn. This sent small ripples through the industry and among fans—enough for Ophelia to write an apology on her Twitter.

In short, the apology let her fans and the industry know that what she said wasn’t true. She said it purely for shock value, wanting to see how the internet would respond and she definitely got her response. I can’t tell you verbatim how everyone reacted, but if Ophelia had to write a whole “I’m sorry” post (that is now deleted), I don’t think people took it well.

My take on this was originally going to be negative. As a new provider, I thought this wasn’t a good look for her. It showed how immature and a little childish she can be. This is part of the reason why I don’t like to book providers who are young. I just know me and them wouldn’t have much to talk about and honestly wouldn’t have anything in common to begin with. Then I started to think about this from another point of view Ophelia’s fucking 20 years old, what the fuck do you expect?

If there’s anything I’ve learned from this new generation, it’s that they enjoy standing out. They’ll say and do anything to stand out, even if it means getting hate for it. I’m not saying Ophelia’s comment is okay, because it isn’t but the fact that she said it isn’t surprising at all.

I hardly believe the comment is going to affect clients booking her. I know some of you could care less about it, just like me. Whatever blowback Ophelia gets from this probably won’t last long, as the industry and its audience have short memories.
