Sofia Lips, a 27-year-old influencer from Manchester, says her obsession with plastic surgery nearly cost her life after a botched breast implant procedure in Turkey. Despite having spent over £500,000 on cosmetic enhancements—including £200,000 to achieve the “world’s biggest lips”—Sofia’s latest breast surgery left her with green discharge and severe complications.
After opting to increase her implants from 450cc to 800cc, Sofia developed an infection that led to sepsis. She recalled “unbearable” pain and swelling, with fluid leaking from her bandages. Though doctors advised urgent surgery to remove the implant, she initially refused, fearing the loss of her enhancements. Eventually, a week of antibiotics saved her from more drastic measures, allowing her to keep the implants.
Despite her ordeal, Sofia returned to Turkey for 1050cc implants in early 2023 and is planning further surgeries, including liposuction. Reflecting on her experiences, she urges others to research clinics carefully. Still, her desire for even larger implants remains strong, saying she’s undeterred by her past complications.
