Hey Yall,
New member here. Since I'm assuming we're all big fans of porn, I wanted to give you my VR Setup.
No one really talks about it, and if we're all fans of pornstars, I have been a die hard fan of all the VR
options that are out.
First off, I download all VR sites, I have countless hard drives and as soon as I figured out how to get
VR running smoothly I was off to the races.
Most VR headsets have zero to no hard drive space on it. Most VR companies get around it by offering
a VR application to be able to watch them on the cloud, which is a terrible idea since streaming VR
is usually streaming a lower end version of the stuff you are paying for.
I hunted for a headset that can play VR movies directly off a hard drive with nothing in between. I didn't
want to stream it from a Steam VR computer and I didn't want to constantly add 2 or 3 VR files to the headset
itself because they usually took about 20 minutes per VR file.
I found the PICO 4 VR headset, sold in Europe and Canada, but you can have it shipped here. I have never
used it for anything other than viewing VR porn, so as far as I know it's bad at everything else.
With the PICO 4 VR headset, you can plug a hard drive into the USB C plug on the headset itself. It will
use it's power to run the hard drives. So, you can use a NVME SSD in an USB-C enclosure to run your favorite
stuff. You can also use any portable hard drive as long at it plugs into USB C. Costco sells portable hard drive
around 5-7TB for around 100ish, if you want a bunch at your finger tips.
For me, I use a 2tb NVME SSD enclosure to watch anything new since I can transfer very quickly from a desktop.
The normal non-ssd portable hard drives are around 10 times slower but there is higher capacity.
Here's my setup.
A huge amount of 15-20TB External drives to archive all my VR porn. They just fill up with the sites I subscribe to
and they lay dormant just in case I need them.
I have a few favorite drives PStars or Favorites, available when I need it.
I have 5 small portable hard drives for travel. These contain all my best of the best which I would love to have available at all times.
I have 2 NVME enclosed drives for checking out new stuff. If I just got a new VR site and I'm curious about a new Little Puck (Tryst Agency) or Penny Barber (Tryst Agency)
scene. I put it in those drives, takes a minute to put into the hard drive and I can watch right away.
The one issue I've had is with Passthrough. I use MoonVR to play most of it, but it doesn't really do much for me, and it really heats up
the headset. But, Pico 4 VR is the only thing I use. I've tried quest and others, nothing works as good. Also, having pornstars walk around my
own room doesn't have the effect I thought it would. It just makes me want to clean my room.
Have a great day,
Justin
