@trystagency and I are back for another EA contest for March Madness. See below for the details!
What is a March Madness Point Spread Pool?
It's a pool that requires no knowledge of College Basketball whatsoever, it's all a game of luck. Only 16 people will enter (first 16 to pay will get their spot!) and you have a chance to win some BIG prizes (more on that in a second). Essentially, you will be cheering for your teams to cover the point spread to stay alive as long as possible. Whoever has the last team or teams remaining will win.
How does it work?
Once you get your teams assigned, you will be rooting for them to cover the point spread. Whoever wins the spread in each game takes over the winning team in the next round.
- For example, imagine 1 seeded Duke is playing 16 seeded Quinnipiac. Player A has Duke, Player B has Quinnipiac, you will both cheer for their team to cover the spread. If Duke is favored over Quinnipiac by 50 points and Duke wins by 49 points or less, the person who has Quinnipiac wins and will take over Duke in the next round. If Duke wins by 51 or more, they will keep Duke and move on to the next round.
What if it’s a push (Duke wins by exactly 50 points in the example mentioned above)?
There are NO pushes. if a spread is tied, then a tie goes to the underdog seed.
For example, if 1 seeded Duke is favored by 50 over 16 seeded Quinnipiac and Duke beats Quinnipiac by a score of 100-50, then whoever has Quinnipiac wins and will take over Duke in the next round.
Cool, I'm interested! How much does it cost to enter and what is the prize?
This potentially can be up for debate depending on interest but the current thought is $250 entry fee. We are debating one of two prize structures: 1) winner take all, $4000 towards a date with one of Tryst's lovely ladies, or 2) winner gets $2500 towards a tryst provider date, and runner up gets $1500 towards a tryst provider date. Once we have 16 people we can have a vote on which everyone prefers.
How will we know what the spread of our games are?
I will create a seperate thread for of the 16 entrants to follow. Each morning of the games (starting Thursday 3/20), I will send out the games that will be played that day, who has each team and what the official spread is for the pool. I will pull the spreads directly from DraftKings (and post a screenshot for transparency). We will also publish the results from the previous day the following morning of who is moving on.
How will the teams be selected?
Each entrant gets four teams
- Each entrant will get one team in each region (East, West, South, Midwest)
- Each entrant will get one team in each seeding range (1-4, 5-8, 9-12, 13-16)
I've used ChatGPT to set up the team drawings (see the table below). I am working a transparent solution to ensure the drawing of each player slot was random prior to March 20th.

This sounds so fun, I'm in! How do I officially enter?
Send @trystagency and @ATribeCalledBlessed a DM and we will give you payment options.
Oh and one spot is already taken because I'm playing
15 spots left, who wants them!
Good luck to everyone who enters!!
