Mainstream porn will die (at some point)

I was watching the Boob Hound podcast featuring Sara St. Clair, and she’s one of a growing number of adult stars walking away from mainstream porn to shoot their own content for platforms like OnlyFans, Fansly, and LoyalFans.

From everything I’ve read, it seems porn isn’t what it used to be before the internet became widespread.
There aren’t as many girls interested in shooting mainstream porn anymore - shooting for major studios, mainly because the money isn’t as good (a fixed fee) compared to what they can make on OnlyFans.

Piracy is also a major factor to consider. If you search well enough, you can often find newly released scenes from Brazzers, Naughty America, etc. on different sites, that you’d otherwise have to pay for.
However, it’s more difficult to find paid content from a performer’s OnlyFans because the people who pay for it often think, “I paid for this, so I’m not going to share it all over the internet for free; others should pay too.” That’s actually a good thing.
I’m not in favor of piracy.

Only the top studios that are financially secure will survive the next 10 years—that’s my prediction. It’s similar to how Facebook disrupted and took over MySpace’s market. I believe platforms like OnlyFans and other creator-friendly websites will eventually take the market from mainstream porn. It will happen, whether we agree with it or not.
