Something occurred to me a very long time ago and I didn’t see how well it could flourish until I saw how well a friend is doing. We all think of investments as a money making strategy to turn into a profit meaning more money, but what if that same strategy can be applied to a provider. Stay with me, we know the main definition of investing is turning money to profit only there are two other definitions of it that pertain more to what we all do.
First definition, something worthy of buying that could be profitable or useful for the future. In no way am I calling providers objects, when you break down the definition in our case we see how this can translate into our hobby.
Second definition, the act of putting in time, effort, and energy to a particular entity with the expectation of a worthwhile result. I can easily say this definition completely says what we all should be doing.
I know clients who have had lasting relationships with providers, both PS and Elite, evolving their relationships in ways not a lot of us can see. Some clients have real phone numbers from their providers, some go on trips with their providers, and some as rare as it is actually have providers bring others into their relationships. Best part about this, if done correctly money isn’t brought up as much as you think. It’s to the point that the trips could be the payment, which isn’t unheard of but usually a client has to pay for the trip along with the providers rate.
Information, providers, time, all this is possible with investing in your provider. I for one had no idea this was a thing until not to long go and seen first hand just how beneficial this can be. I always saw something like this as being nothing but a money grab for the provider but this changes how I see the provider/client relationship. You can have your cake and eat it too without being in an actual relationship with the cake.
I don’t know maybe I’m digging too deep into our hobby, but I’ve seen what comes from investing in your provider and it seems like a dream we all want.
