I've done it, mostly out of laziness and cheapness (this already involves a lot of effort and money -- the screening, the deposit, the TTS test -- so not having to book and check into a hotel is a fringe benefit). I've lucked out because I've never had any kind of drama queen who won't leave or whatever, although I am aware of the risks and it is a double-edged sword. At this point I wouldn't do it with anyone for the first time.
Last year I saw a porn star I had been trying to get for YEARS and she came over to my place. The date was everything I could have wanted, it was perfect. We tried rebooking but scheduling did not work out. Recently we were setting up a booking and she asked for me to get a hotel. I was surprised since she had been in my home and asked about it, and she said she was a bit more comfortable meeting in a hotel since it would not be quite as private as meeting in my home. I was offended and furious. The whole time had been spectacular and while we're not friends we connected on more than a physical level, yet now she apparently was feeling unsafe seeing me here. It doesn't matter how difficult getting a girl is or how long it takes, this kind of disrespect (maybe too strong a word?) is not something I tolerate so I just blocked her and deleted her number. Life is already difficult enough and if I wanted to litigate trust issues I'd get a girlfriend. On on on to the next one.
