Thanks for the perspective, all. Yeah, I figured it's probably super-safe because of all the testing but the gold test panel didn't have herpes so I kinda got in my own head and got paranoid about that

Therefore, if that was part of the panel… the adult industry would almost certainly cease to exist …

that's not true. Herpes is not tested for on TTS gold panel. So it can't show up on the test at all, ever. Herpes testing in general is not accurate for a myriad of reasons, so that is why its not even tested. Herpes transfer without visible sores is low, but not impossible. Some people with herpes never get an visual sores. So that is a real risk that anyone is taking, even with condoms.

edit: I will add that, not meant to be a fear monger. I do BFFS and dont think much of it, risk wise.

it’s likely they all have herpes - look up the statistics about the general population. If they are taking medication for it and don’t have an outbreak it’s unlikely you will contract it

Thank you for the informative post and that honestly, is not great to hear. Even with a condom, there is still a risk.

Any suggestions when seeing a provider to lower the risk?

This is the smartest thing that was said here. PS providers are the only reason to get tested and the absolute only reason to go BB. Their bodies are their work, so they will do whatever they can to maintain it. I'm not saying elite providers don't take care of their bodies, but when it comes to getting tested every week or once every two weeks; it's rare. Even as rare as it is......

blood test accuracy is poor with HSV, and if it shows up positive... it could indicate either recent infection or an infection from many moons ago. That is because once you get the active infection, your immune system effectively recognises it for life.
Also there is cross reactions with HSV-1 (cold sores), which adds to the poor accuracy.

Hence if i was part of the gold panel and considered important... and it came up postive across the board, the adult industry would have to go on continous memorandum. Because it is not considered a biggie, it has little to no worth of testing.

is the PrEP boosted dose proven to work for PIV? I read that it's only for anal

Cause it'd be great if all I had to do was take the test, take boosted PrEP prior, then boosted doxy after. I guess there's still herpes??
