At 26 years old, Funes had built a successful online presence with her adult content, garnering 700,000 followers on Instagram and 152,000 on TikTok. Despite earning a lucrative income from her OnlyFans subscribers, who paid $23 monthly.
Funes decided to leave her online persona behind and step into the world of journalism.
In a video shared on her social media at the time, Jennifer appeared dressed as a news anchor, complete with glasses, and teased her followers,
"Are you ready for what's coming? News and more. Aquí Entre Nosotros, soon." The phrase, which translates to "Here Among Us," referred to a YouTube news channel that launched her as its main presenter.
Explaining her decision back in March, Funes stated:
"I think and feel that it is necessary to change my social networks and my life. I wanted to look more serious and enter the world of journalism, which is what I studied." She added,
"Very soon, Jennifer Funes will be presenting news."
A Broader Trend of Transformation
Funes’s decision echoed a similar career pivot made by Australian model Dasha Daley in 2023. Daley, a former OnlyFans model, left behind her two-year career as a full-time content creator to return to a traditional job.
In a TikTok video shared last year, Daley expressed her sense of fulfillment after making the switch.
"It's day one at a real job after being a spicy content creator for two years," she said.
"And after a 10-hour shift, I'm honestly really tired, but I just feel so fulfilled that I've got a normal job again and I've actually worked."
Her fans were supportive of her decision, with one commenting,
