This should go without saying, but far too many things that should go without saying still need to be said. So here goes.
I feel like this forum is a safe haven for like-minded individuals to share experiences, ask questions, engage with each other and have some fun without childish judgement. And for the most part, that’s exactly what happens.
When you don’t like or agree with a post or a comment, or don’t share the same objectives, preferences, tastes or desires as someone else, there are ways of engaging and disagreeing with people in classy ways that keep the forum friendly and positive. There’s also a perfectly viable option to stay completely silent, ignoring the post/comment/thread entirely, or engaging in a dialogue with one or more like-minded individuals in DM.
What shouldn’t ever be done is to mock, condescend, criticize or smugly chastise other guys for feeling differently than you do. Everyone is an authority over their own lives. No one is an authority over the lives of others. No one gets to decide what anyone else wants, likes or expresses.
To me, this forum is based on a gentleman’s agreement, a bro code, where we should all pay it back and pay it forward without starting petty spats or belittling someone else for feeling or expressing themselves differently than you.
I know the overwhelming majority of you guys agree with this and follow these unwritten guidelines. Sadly, not everyone does. I hope that changes. I really do.
