The crack down in prostitution has been growing everyday and continues to do so today. Recently, I dropped a video of how bad Queens, New York is and after a couple of other members posted videos of LE cracking down on those same streets. Los Angeles seems to be getting the same treatment as LE is announcing a full blown initiative to stop prostitution particularly around the famous Figueroa Corridor.
This move by LE comes from the increase in sex trafficking. It's becoming a very big problem as young adolescents are being targeted for kidnapping and forced into sex work. Pimps usually take this women to work back and forth through Las Vegas to Los Angeles to escort on the strip of Figueroa.
Those who don't now, Figueroa Corridor is about a 3-mile stretch of Figueroa Street in Downtown Los Angeles stretching from Gage Avenue down to Imperial Highway. Numerous escorts use that strip as a place to meet clients and have car dates. LE have been trying to clean that part of Los Angeles for years, but nothing seemed to hep the highly profitable area.
In a article posted by The Los Angeles Magazine, Two adolescents were rescued by LE after watching a pimp force them into a car. The young girl's spoke up about their captuor, stating he transported them and forced them to work the strip of Figueroa. This was more then enough to have two different LE form a task force to combat the growing problem.
This allowed the city to create the Figueroa Corridor Human Trafficking Initiative. Basically, federal and local LE working together to target human traffickers and those who perpetuate illegal sex work, especially involving adolescents.
This is the best move they can make for what's been happening in human trafficking. Figueroa is extremely famous known by just about every hobbyist for being hotspot for providers, even seeing a adult actress or two.
