I vaguely remember that this topic has come up before, although quite a while back — and since then, more gentlemen have joined us, which is why I’m “reviving” it now.
I’ve both given birthday and Christmas presents to providers I’ve gotten close with (four women - one of them eventually became a SB. I think that she definitely qualifies as that).
It was deserved, no hard feelings - I chose to give those gifts.
As for that one SB, who was... well, showered with gifts - the most I ever got in return was a “Happy Birthday” video, well... one of "those" videos so that was a nice touch.
Which, looking back, I now understand why that’s the case - now that I’ve gotten deeper into the hobby. Still, I can’t help but wonder why she didn’t give me just a small thing; it didn’t have to be anything expensive.
