I used Eros exclusively when I got into the hobby, but now hardly ever. This may be old news, but a few years ago I started noticing that many of the profiles had no text. No info about rates, tour dates… nada.
I asked a few providers about it and if I remember correctly they said that it was pretty tough to get profiles approved, with long response times. That seemed to explain the blank profiles and I kept using the site, but it eventually got overrun by scammers. I imagine that the blank profiles from legit providers helped facilitate the scamming?
