As I was scrolling through my usual social media feed, I stumbled upon a crucial aspect of our hobby that often gets overlooked: discretion. It's what allows us to enjoy this hobby without ruining the experience for ourselves or others.

Just yesterday, pornstar Penny Barber (Tryst Agency) took to Twitter to express her frustration with how clients are handling themselves in the hobby today, and I have to say, I wholeheartedly agree with her. Before COVID turned the world upside down, Penny was in high demand within the hobby. She offered a mix of full-service and specialized in fetish play and BDSM. Finding reviews about her is like looking for a needle in a haystack, and even if they existed, they'd be a reminder of what we've lost.

COVID wasn't the sole reason Penny and many other providers left the scene; incidents like the one in this picture also played a part. My question is simple: why? Putting OnlyFans aside, because we all know that messaging a provider there about the hobby can lead to bans, and that's just plain foolish unless you're intentionally trying to dox them.

Going out of your way to contact a provider without going through the proper channels is just asking for trouble. It puts the provider on edge and makes them more cautious about meeting clients. This not only spoils the experience for you but also makes it harder for the rest of us. The only acceptable reasons for bypassing the usual points of contact can be chalked up to being new to this, which happens. But I refuse to believe that some of us can't do a simple Google search to find the information we need.

Discretion is the lifeblood of this hobby, and we must uphold it. I recognize the irony in saying this on a hobbyist forum, but we all need to gather information somewhere before we book.
