I DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR POLITICAL VIEWS. I DON'T CARE ABOUT MY POLITICAL VIEWS. SO, IN ADDITION I WON'T CARE ABOUT YOURS. KEEP IT OUT OF HERE!!!

I don't enjoy talking about things that have to do with the world. Our civilian lives are aspects of us that tend to seep into our lives as clients, so it's pretty hard to avoid. What happens in the world now isn't easy for a lot of people. Things are tense, and people are on edge, ready to do whatever they have to do to survive. I didn’t expect it to have providers doing the same but discounts, lower rates, and an influx of specials are said to be the new normal next month.

From a stateside point of view, we all know what's happening right now. Our government has been shut down for a full month, and things are strained in terms of benefits. Things some of us take for granted have been or will soon be no longer viable. We’ve already seen how it’s affected transportation it can take hours upon hours to get through TSA in popular cities, not to mention just getting on a flight back home or wherever the hell you may be going. Even then, flying hasn’t been great for some time, in my opinion. Then there’s the mail taking longer, health insurance claims pending, and other benefits that generally just keep going. What has some providers scared and wondering how they’re going to survive, though, are those who rely on SNAP benefits aka EBT.

For those who don’t know, SNAP is essentially the government sending you money so you can buy food. I could go more in-depth, but I’ve never been on SNAP myself though I was raised on it as a kid. Still, you get the point from that brief definition. With the shutdown still in effect, rumors have circulated that people on SNAP won’t be getting their monthly amount come tomorrow. This is where the discounts and specials come in for providers.

To be honest, I thought the last people on earth who’d have SNAP or need any kind of government assistance would be providers. I don’t know why I think that, with everything I see these women post on social media along with the rates they receive from clients it just looks like they’re all wealthy and living without a care in the world. I’m sure it has something to do with social media putting a false narrative in my head. The reality is, a majority of these women aren’t wealthy and are on benefits. Call it poor financial literacy or spending beyond their means either way, this is what leads to providers having to change their marketing. This coming month, providers are going to be changing up their rates in a big way.

I’m not saying all providers will be doing this. Don’t expect that provider who’s asking $2,500 an hour to suddenly drop to $1,500. Some women know what they’re doing with their money, while others have no choice but to adjust. The key here is to do a thorough search before deciding on that one provider right then and there. You might have to do a little digging to find those discounts, or do a little more reading to see the added services that could be offered now that weren’t before. It’s all about seeing what’s out there that wasn’t before.

Some of these women will be struggling. I’m not saying to play Captain Save-A-Hoe (excuse the reference), nor am I saying to take advantage of these women as they fall on hard times. I’m just saying do with this time what you will. Situations like this don’t benefit the hobby every day, so when they do, having as much fun as you can is encouraged.
