Courted App

If there ever was a time to call what certain women do escorting, then now is the time. The way some people see our taboo hobby astounds me every day, as it’s always looked at in a horrible light. There will never be a time where society will be okay with what we do or more so, what these SWers are doing. That being said, they’re making it pretty fucking easy for these providers to actually be providers. A young woman is said to be creating an app where sending deposits for actual dates will be easier for men. The fucking irony.

Amanda Michelle is a single mother. She’s a young, attractive woman who’s gone on dates with the supposed wrong kind of men. Tired of dating the wrong men, Amanda decided to make an app to see that the men follow through on their end. The app is called Courted. It was made so that civilian men can drop a deposit down for civilian women to essentially pay for their time. When I say time, Amanda means date preparation costs.

God almighty, it’s hard not to laugh just writing this out. I’m sure everyone has seen this video at one point or another, as Amanda has gone viral in the small amount of time since the video came out. Again, this is extremely laughable to me. If you don’t see it here, then you’ll see it in Amanda’s entire comment section of the video telling her what this is. It’s not rocket science or some kind of mathematical problem it’s a woman creating a deposit app for escorting. There are numerous electronic payment apps for that already, but as far as I know, none of them have blatantly come out saying they condone money being accepted for sexual favors. Amanda isn’t saying, nor does she believe, that’s what she’s creating. Amanda says, “This is about respecting each other’s effort, not buying companionship.”

My opinion, if you haven’t already seen it by now, is this companionship trying to step through the doors of civilian life. This day and age, we see that most women want certain expectations met before going on civilian dates, with all of those expectations revolving around money. It’s to the point that it’s normal to live up to these expectations. Amanda just created a way for certain men to continue normalizing all of it.

Regardless of how I or any of us feel about this app, providers will still use it. To them, this could be looked at as a good sign to make things easier for themselves. However, like most apps being used by providers, banks, LE, or some other third entity will catch on to illegal dealings being done. This will make it hard for the app to stay open. Hell, I’d be very surprised if it got that far to begin with. Although, ,early access to the app is available and they will be launching city by city.

Amanda believes Courted isn’t reinventing dating, it’s accidentally exposing how transactional civilian dating has already become. The only difference between this and escorting is honesty. Providers don’t pretend money isn’t part of the exchange; civilians wrap it in buzzwords like “effort,” “intent,” and “respect” to feel better about it. That’s why this app feels so ironic to people in the hobby, we’ve already seen this movie, and we know how it ends. Whether Courted survives or flames out isn’t really the point. The point is that the line people swear exists between escorting and dating keeps getting thinner, and apps like this don’t erase that line, they highlight it.
