So I was reading a thread on X about the rates content creators charge each other for trades and I was shocked how low it was compared to escort rates like for three figures range.

Is this because there’s expected profits if they get to market their copy of the film? I’m guessing maybe there isn’t profit sharing as the producer of the video is taking the burden of the cost?

I’m just envious of these guys that pay a fraction and probably get way more time than we do. Am I wrong to feel this way?

I know a guy who started an onlyfans to not only get the lower rates, but also see women who didn’t escort. For example, there’s a provider on tryst at a 2500 rate, but filming a scene would start at 800. He’s been able to film with stars who aren’t providers.

I’ve been offered to go this route where he would film me, but I haven’t had the courage to do it yet.

Show me where these low rate shoots are lol. I have sent out probably 200 dm's/emails in the past 6 months looking to shoot content. I've had exactly one amateur and one maintstream girl willing to shoot for under 1000 for shared content. Any girls with legit online followings quote me 1500+. Probably 90% of those inquiries just went straight up ignored. For shared content that doesn't make much sense for the creator with the lesser following because everyone is just going to buy from the girl. I have had girls quote me as much as 3000 for shared content. If you get established enough to book through agencies you'll be paying 1200-1500 per scene.

As far as the actual sex goes, it is far less enjoyable. I have to worry about angles, moving cameras/tripods around mid fuck, not cumming too quickly. Not to mention what I enjoy sexually is not what is going to show best on camera with me wearing a mask (kissing, missionary being 2 big ones).

The truth is it's a major waste of time unless A. You have an online following already which will entice girls to shoot with you for clout or B. You are in the 1% looks wise or dick size. Just last week I wasted 200 testing and 300 on hotel rooms for 2 shoots that would have cost me 1700 and 1300 each. 1700 girl cancelled 20 minutes ahead of time. 1300 girl just straight up flaked with no response. Luckily I was able to scramble and book a girl with less than 20k Twitter followers to fill in for 1 shoot for 1200.

Thanks for the insight and no doubt salute your effort. Being a male talent is extremely physically and financially difficult, especially if you’re not a household name.

Oh yeah, female talents are notorious for late or flaking even on studio shoots.

Yeah, while there have been a few opportunities that are less than the escort rate / hour, it’s probably cost me more in production costs, travel, etc. Not to mention the opportunity costs of models flaking or cancelling. I went to Vegas for AVN week with 5 shoots planned, and only ended up with 2, with one I may not even be able to release the content on.

I don’t regret it and am still looking forward to continuing my content site/content creation venture going. But as far as the experience, it’s night and day (IMO) when comparing to a GFE appointment with a provider. I’ve never been a stronger believer in the statement that “sex work is real work.”, cause it really has been A LOT of work with minimal payoff (none currently - but hopefully in the future).

The rate for filming has been overinflated because a lot of people monetize it, so providers, especially with big names, think it's unfair to charge for filming too little

Compared to what we pay the collab rates are nothing, but I'm sure there's more to it. I figure a lot of it has to do with the money both parties accrue over time. I was in this space on X listening to this guy speak on a bunch of content he did awhile back and is still getting paid on today. Possible everything just adds up over time. Any of us here could start an onlyfans and work to being able to pay these rates ourselves. Camera hates me, so that can never happen for me but some people can really pull that off.

I anticipate and hope I will be getting a passive income this year that would effectively allow me to never have to rely on a traditional job so that I would have the freedom to do my own adult content.

But for now I have to focus on what I can do vs what I want to do.
