Screenshot 2025-05-14 115717.pngI’ve had this Eros ad up on my workstation for the past couple of days, trying to make sense of it. As with everything else in this hobby, I always do my research before making any decisions—and this is one of several ads that’s had me spinning my wheels. The ad in question features a model going by the name "Mia." At first glance, it set off all the usual red flags. But then, things got more complicated, which is why I’m taking the time to unpack it here.

When I first saw the photos, my instinct was that they were stolen. They looked too polished, almost like they'd been ripped from a from another source or a brand campaign. So, I did what I always do, ran a reverse image search. That’s when the confusion set in. The search led me to a real Instagram account—verified, no less—for a model named Maria Fernanda. Same photos. Same person. This wasn’t some random, untraceable internet model; Maria has an actual online presence.

Still, the red flags didn’t disappear. The Instagram linked to the Eros ad was suspiciously empty. It only had a few photos and a bio that read: “Ask me, and I’ll send you my reviews and my page.” That kind of vagueness typically screams scam. Yet when I dug deeper, I noticed something unexpected: the Linktree in the Eros IG bio matched the one on Maria’s verified Instagram. That made things murky. Copying a Linktree isn’t hard, though to copy all that is a little much.

That’s when I started paying closer attention to Maria herself. Despite being verified, there’s no listed profession in her bio. There’s no mention of modeling, acting, or content creation. The only revenue stream I could find was an OnlyFans account linked through her Linktree—and that account had almost no real content. It’s rare to see a creator with a presence that big and that curated without at least one clearly monetized outlet. It raises the obvious question: if she’s not modeling, not posting, and not selling content. The only other thing that comes to mind is the obvious.

It’s not hard to see why this particular ad has me so stuck. Maria—or Mia, depending on who’s behind the screen—is undeniably beautiful. She’s got the kind of look that makes a man think with his lower brain. And while beauty doesn’t always mean legitimacy, it does explain why I’m second-guessing my instincts here.

I may be overthinking this. But in a world where scammers are always evolving and the stakes are high, overthinking sometimes feels like the safest option.
