I follow the AI and robotics space quite closely, and I'm quite impressed with the Tesla Bot, for example, in terms of what it can do at this point. However, when it comes to human-likeness, there is still a long way to go. By that, I mean that robots, in general, don't speak or move like humans. The physical technology needs a lot more work, and AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) also needs to be further developed and improved.
As I mentioned in another post, the closest thing we currently have to a "functioning" sex robot—one that you'd remotely want to interact with and use—is the robot called "Harmony," developed by RealDoll. While it can talk and move its lips and mouth, it still can't walk, which is essential for a truly interactive AI sex doll. That would actually make me want to buy it just to try it out. I remember a TV episode here in Denmark back in 2017 where they interviewed the creators of the Realdoll in the U.S. At the time, they aimed to create a doll that could walk and talk like a human "in the near future." Well, here we are, seven years later, and it still only has the ability to talk, moan, and move certain facial features.
I understand how difficult it is to make a real-life humanoid, let alone a sex robot, and that’s why I believe it will take at least until 2030 - if not later, before we see the first fully capable AGI-driven robots being sold.
One major issue developers are just starting to get a handle on is the robot's ability to walk like a human. Right now, no robot walks perfectly; it still looks very robotic. Another issue is finger joints. Humans have three joints per finger, whereas most robots today only have two.
At this point, in terms of AI—let alone AGI—we are only where mobile phones were in the early 1990s. There's still a lot of work ahead.
I would still use real-life providers - there is NO question about that, but I’d switch it up with a sexbot once in a while. It would definitely be more fun than just using a fleshlight or your hand.
