I know everyone will have their own opinions on the Diddy case but the biggest takeaway I learned and think is silly is the punishment for prostitution.

Diddy was found guilty of “Transportation for the purposes of prostitution” which has a maximum of 10 years. However, this does not carry a minimum sentence so he could be out tomorrow after time served.

While, we all take this same risk every time we contact a provider for an outcall. I do acknowledge that it is very unlikely that the feds would commit time / resources to prosecuting us. It’s just crazy to me that the range is 1 day - 10 years.

Prostitution should be decriminalized in the states - absolutely.

How on Gods green earth is it legal for members of congress to do insider trading but illegal for an adult woman to sell sex.

That said, the sex industry is thriving worldwide, even in Thailand where prostitution is illegal but it's rarely enforced.

UPDATE: Transportation for prostitutiom is literally the only charge Diddy was convicted of, he was cleared of sex trafficking and RICO

Yeah I feel you. My opinion has always been that sex work should be legalized. It's pretty much the oldest profession, legalizing it SHOULD lead to sex work being less dangerous for providers, and a ton of the politicians that act like prudes over it are seeing providers anyway.
