Christmas is by far my favorite holiday of all. It’s a magical time of the year when everything seems to fall into place. It’s the season to love, to be grateful for life itself, and to be generous. I enjoy giving presents much more than receiving them. There’s something truly special about watching people open their gifts and seeing their smiles light up the room.
Since we’re on EA, I want to focus on being generous toward providers—the brilliant women who do an amazing job and bring us so much happiness every time we visit them. I wouldn’t say that something is a good present just because it’s expensive. For me, as long as the gift comes from the heart and is given with genuine thought and care, that’s what matters most.
I deeply appreciate and admire every one of the incredible women I’ve had the pleasure of spending time with, and I hope they all have a very merry Christmas, wherever they may be.
Which leads me to ask: What’s the most generous thing you’ve ever done for a provider—whether it was a physical gift or something entirely different? There are so many ways to express love and appreciation beyond material gifts. Personally, I’ve always enjoyed texting the women I know, both past and present, to let them know how loved and appreciated they are, as well as occasionally sending thoughtful gifts.
The most generous thing I’ve ever done was giving my then-SB enough money to cover her two kids’ Christmas gifts—and then some. Her happiness was unforgettable, and I’m pretty sure I even saw a tear of joy. Moments like that perfectly capture the spirit of Christmas: paying forward generosity and love.
