So, about two weeks ago I brought up a screening fee that some providers are doing. I myself didn’t like the fee as it just came off as another way for a provider to charge for something along with a slew of other fees. I was trying to see it from the provider’s point of view, but I wasn’t able to. @shion gave his opinion in a well-written way, and he explained it, I guess, in simpler terms that made me understand. I understood—I just still didn’t agree with it, as it’s a fee for something I don’t believe needs a fee. Though it is what it is. I’ve come across something that I’m very perplexed about, as it seems like we’re right back in that wheelhouse.
So, a provider threw down a couple of her fees for certain situations. This is pretty much letting the client know that every bit of her time will be compensated, as it should for a sex worker—within reason. If you go down the line, you can see that almost all of them make sense.
You’ve got the $50 rush fee. This fee is for last-minute requests. Honestly, this fee makes sense as providers do often get those last-minute requests—whether it’s for a certain dress, heels, makeup, what have you—it does come up. Only paying $50 isn’t that bad, as I’ve seen $100 posted. This helps us make our decisions in the moment and not day-of.
$50 beauty rest fee. I don’t so much agree with this. As a provider, if you want to sleep, I believe you can set times when you want to talk to clients or see them, for that matter. I do know some guys who enjoy that morning session, but never to see a provider damn near at the crack of dawn like that. Still, this is the provider’s prerogative. I can only give my opinion and deal with it.
Finally, the $50 wheelbarrow fee. If the client is more than two hours late sending the deposit after dates are made, they will be charged. I don’t know how to feel about this one. At first, I want to be frustrated at it because charging a fee based on how fast a deposit is sent seems a little extreme. What if you have stuff going on or you’re married and need to be with your wife before you send that deposit? There are things that can pop up to make this difficult. Then I had to think: if a client is serious about seeing any provider, they will send that deposit as soon as possible. I’m literally in the middle of doing so right now, and it took me no time at all to send a deposit. I still don’t believe this should be a thing, but as @shion said, it does separate the time-wasters from the real clients.
I’m curious to know if anyone thinks I’m bugging out or not. In a way, it makes sense, but it also seems like the fees are too much and not needed. Again, we can’t change this provider’s mind, I’m just very curious about the community’s thoughts.
