Suggestions on where to stay in LA/SFV?

I've never spent any meaningful amount of time in LA before, but will be there for a few nights for work between downtown LA and San Fernando Valley. Would love to throw in some play time while I'm there.

Would love to hear any suggestions on where to stay, either general areas (between LA/SFV would be ideal but not absolutely required) and/or specific hotel recos (good bang for the buck, don't need to be dropping a thousand bucks a night just for a place to sleep).

SoCal native here I would say your best bet for going from A to B would be like North Hollywood or Universal City there is a lot of decent options “bang for your buck” 3 and 4 Star places for $150-200 a night(not including deposit)


I will say this account an extra 30+ minutes for your commute LA traffic is terrible from 7-9am and 4pm to 6 or 7pm M-F if you want can PM me more specifics such as where in down town and the valley you will be working and I can help you figure out something close to an off-ramp in a decent location


The other thing I will mention is you definitely need a rental car to get around LA/valley and make sure the AC works full time lol 90+ degrees out here right now even though it’s only march

As far as play time there is a TTS in the valley it’s a little off the freeway though like a good 10 min drive lol

The LINE hotel in Koreatown is solid. Good enough for pornstars and nearby Korean agencies with lots of good restaurants nearby.

The InterContinental Los Angeles in DTLA Financial District is my go to.

73-story luxury hotel located at 900 Wilshire Blvd, known as the tallest building on the West Coast. It features a 70th-floor sky lobby, Spire 73 (highest open-air bar in the Western Hemisphere), La Boucherie (steakhouse), No Dive Bar (poolside), and a Lobby Lounge.

Depends on where you want to go and how far/long you’re willing to drive from point A to B. Traffic being the rate limiting factor. Here’s my recs based on quality for the price.

Burbank: Cambria Burbank

Can’t go wrong with The Line in Korea town or The Delphi. You will recognize both as they are often used for scenes. The cambria in Burbank is used a lot for collabs.
