Found out today that one of my good buddies who I've known for 20+ years died a few days ago from a ",widomaker" he was 52..
So just a gentle reminder to everyone make sure you tell those you care about you care and value them you never know when you might be wanting to call them to ask them tier advice on something and have their wife answering the phone sobbing

My buddy John was a OG 70s hot rodder and ford guy we used to trash talk each other all the time... the infamous Chevy vs ford rivals but ill say this anytime I did not know something about wrenching on a car(which is rare for me) he was my first call the guy has worked on everything under the sun... infact he gave me his old crank tool for original model T cars which I have used twice both times I was extremely happy to have it... I know I will always remember him and value his friendship but doesn't mean I won't miss him


He was the kind of guy who would loan you any tool in his massive tool box and never pester you to get it back even if he needed it... which for a car guy is the kind of guy who'd give you the shirt off his back... I will always remember the late night helping wrenching on each other project cars and the nights sitting around sipping beers


So just remember all life is short so make the most of it and make sure those u love and care for know it

Thanks hasn't hit me 100% yet but I know when it does imma prob be crying in a corner... prob gonna def weep some every time I open my tool box while at work as the model T crank handle sits in plain view in one of the drawers

Thank u sir i appreciate it was mostly just posting this for myself to help me process my thoughts and emotions on his death but I appreciate u leaving it up

I hope its a valuable reminder to everyone life is short and the fates could cut the cord of your life line any second so make sure u tell those u care about that u do so... legit I was just talking to him like a day or 2 b4 his death and all I can think is "did i tell him I loved him like a brother or not"(memory issues so hard to recall)

Just so everyone can see the tool i mean most won't understand but a few gear heads/people familiar with tools might... the right side is basically a giant socket that fits on a crankshaft for an original flat head V8 ford and pre flat heads you then would turn it over by hand to get the engine to spark)this is before engine starters) used it twice in my 20 years of automotive career but both times sure as hell glad I had it... this thing now holds a extra special place in my heart and my tool box

I have lost friends that I grew up with and it never gets easier. That fact that you shared a love of working on cars gives you the opportunity to remember him every time you work on a Ford.

Women will often call each other over to talk, and in my experience when men want to talk we will invite each other over for an activity . Play cards, work on a car, build something, shoot hoops, watch a game, play golf.

Really these activities are just an opportunity for us to talk and bond. I have a good buddy that invites me over to play cards, I know he really just needs somebody to talk to when he wants to play cards; but you know what, I grab my deck, chips, and head his way.

We should all be lucky to have meaningful relationships, friendships, and bonds with other men. I’m sure your friendship meant a lot to him.

Im obviously still in a bit of shock/disbelief about it i do have a friend or 2 in the real world i can reach out to as well if needed... I do really appreciate the admins(yourself and the others) and mods leaving this topic/post up I'm finding it a great way to help process my feelings and also make sense of this unfortunate event

Oh I fully intend to homie... the ironic thing about me posting this on the ea forum he was my one RL friend who knew I was in the hobby and always asked me to brief him on the details so he could live vicariously through me since he's been married nearly 15 years so he was just as perverted as anyone here
